VIC: Minister defends three showers a week for elderly

MELBOURNE, Feb 8 AAP - The Victorian government today denied that its policy of discharging
patients from hospital early was the main reason council home services had to ration showers
for the elderly.
Health Minister Rob Knowles said the ageing population was mainly to blame for greater
pressure on council services.
"That (early discharge) is one of the pressures that has increased demand on the program
but it is a much lesser pressure than what the ageing of the population has put …
