Fed: Holiday road toll now at 69
SYDNEY, Jan 2 AAP - The national Christmas-New Year road toll stands at 69 following
six deaths on the first day of the year -- three of them in Queensland.
A 16-year-old youth died in Toowoomba hospital late yesterday afternoon after being
seriously injured in an accident at Helidon, west of Brisbane.
He was in a vehicle containing three youths that rolled down an embankment on the Gatton
by-pass road at around 6.30am (AEST).
A 54-year-old woman died in hospital several hours after an accident at Pittsworth
on Queensland's Darling Downs …
