Autonet Mobile, an internet service provider for cars, reported it has won the "Best Aftermarket Accessory Award" from Telematics Update.
Autonet Mobile was among 11 products from around the globe identified as finalists in the "Best Aftermarket Accessory" category. In 2008 Autonet Mobile received the Industry Newcomer Award from Telematics Update.
The Telematics Awards are judged by a panel of industry executives, journalists and consultants with expertise in the auto, consumer electronics and telematics industries. The award program was conducted in conjunction with the Telematics Detroit Conference held this week.
Autonet Mobile has partnered with Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and GM's Cadillac and provides WiFi for their vehicles. Autonet Mobile is also available at Advanced Auto Parts, Al & Ed's and numerous independent auto dealerships. The company said it expects to announce partnerships with another car manufacturer and retailer.
"We see enormous opportunity for in-car internet services as consumers demand more interactive entertainment and information options wherever life takes them," said Sterling Pratz, CEO of Autonet Mobile. "As the auto industry continues to search for ways to generate new revenue we are partnering with the largest players to extend the home internet experience to the vehicle."
The Telematics Update Awards offer organizations across the global telematics industry the opportunity to showcase telematics products, services and initiatives.
